Entertainment Duty Stamps

การจัดเก็บภาษีอากรในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 4 (พ.ศ. 2394 – พ.ศ. 2411)  ได้กำหนดให้มีการจัดเก็บภาษีประเภทใหม่ขึ้นหลายประเภท ซึ่ง อากรมหรสพ เป็นหนึ่งในภาษีที่จัดเก็บประเภทหนึ่ง

อากรมหรสพ คือ อากรประเภทนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อจัดเก็บรายได้จากผู้จัดมหรสพ ซึ่งมีรายได้ดีมากในสมัยนั้น อากรชนิดนี้เริ่มมีการจัดเก็บมาตั้งแต่สมัยพระนารายณ์มหาราช ซึ่งเก็บจากการละเล่นต่างๆ และได้นำมาจัดเก็บใหม่ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ 4 โดยอากรมหรสพเป็นอากรผูกขาด นายอากรจะประมูลขอรับผูกขาดจัดแสดงและนำส่งรายได้ให้กับรัฐ

รุ่นแรกพิมพ์จากประเทศอังกฤษ เดิมเรียกว่า อากรมหรสพ เริ่มใช้ในปี พ.ศ. 2445 (ร.ศ. 121) เป็นผลประโยชน์แผนกมหาดไทยสรรพากร เลิกใช้เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2528

ชุดแรก (First Issue – 28 April 1940)

อากรมหรสพรุ่นแรก พิมพ์ที่ กรมแผนที่ทหาร (Royal Thai Survey Department) ประกอบด้วยชนิดราคา  2 สต. 3 สต. 4 สต. 5 สต. 10 สต. 25 สต. 1 บาท 5 บาท และ 10 บาท (ชนิดราคาสตางค์จะใช้ตัวเลขไทย ส่วนชนิดราคาบาท จะเป็นตัวเลขอาราบิก)

เอกสาร  ติดอากรมหรสพ รุ่นแรก ราคา 1 บาท ถูกขีดฆ่าบนอากร เมื่อวันที่ 8 เม.ย. พ.ศ. 2489

ชุดที่ 2 (Second Issue 1947-1949)

อากรมหรสพรุ่นที่ 2 พิมพ์ที่ Supasarin Printing, Bangkok ประกอบด้วยชนิดราคา 4 สต. 5 สต. 10 สต. 25 สต. 1 บาท 5 บาท และ 10 บาท

ใบเสร็จรับเงิน วันที่ 20 เม.ย. พ.ศ. 2489 ติดอากรมหรสพ รุ่นที่ 2 ราคา 1 บาท

ใบเสร็จรับเงินโรงแรมรัตนโกสินทร์ วันที่ 16 ส.ค. 2489 ติดอากรมหรสพ รุ่นที่ 2

ชุดที่ 3

พิมพ์ที่ Thomas De La Rue &  Company, Limited. ประกอบด้วยราคา 5 สตางค์, 10 สตางค์, 25 สตางค์, 50 สตางค์, 1 บาท, 2 บาท, 3 บาท, 5 บาท และชุดที่พิมพ์ที่ Bradbury  ราคา 10 บาท

อากรมหรสพชุดที่ 3 พิมพ์ครั้งที่ 4  – ออกใช้ปี พ.ศ. 2494-2497 (1951-1954) ครบทุกราคา 9 ดวง

The 1 baht of the 2nd set of 1963 is not from the archives but from the stamps as issued. The archives did not contain any 1963 era printed 1 baht stamps.

The 5 satang block is  from the 1949 printing of Thomas de La Rue. These stamps had no imprint in the margins, only the stamp value, printed in the same color as the stamps itself

Gutter blocks are only available from the Thomas De La Rue archives, maximum 7 such blocks of the 5 satang value exist.
These stamps were printed in 4 sheets of 100 with vertical and horizontal gutters in between. The value printed is only once per sheet. The sheets were partially broken up when purchased from Thomas De La Rue, only maximum 7 gutter pairs with vertical gutters exist. This is the last block available directly from the archives.

1949 – Thailand entertainment revenues gutter block of 10 satang MNH, pristine white gum exhibition quality. Gutter blocks are only available from the Thomas De La Rue archives, maximum 7 such blocks of the 10 satang value exist.
These stamps were printed in 4 sheets of 100 with vertical and horizontal gutters in between. The sheets were partially broken when purchased, only 7 gutter vertical gutter pairs maximum exist. This is the last block available directly from the archives.

Gutter blocks are only available from the Thomas De La Rue archives, maximum 7 such blocks of the 1 baht value exist. All 1 baht values in the archives the gutters are broken on the right side of the gutter. Intact gutters of the 1 baht value do not exist. These stamps were printed in 4 sheets of 100 with vertical and horizontal gutters in between. The sheets were partially broken up when purchased from De La Rue, only 7 gutter pairs maximum exist. This is the last block available directly from the archives.
